Displacement Relief Committee at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine provides medical treatments for the displaced families...

Displacement Relief Committee at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has developed an integrated program for the care and the service of the displaced families as a result of terrorist attacks which took place in some of Iraq's provinces during the period of the forced displacement pursued by ISIL terrorist gangs either directly or indirectly. This program is continuing with its varied parts including the medical care, as the committee has given particular attention to this field as the places where these families live are uninhabitable, especially in the volatile weather conditions, leading to the spread of some diseases such as scabies from which some families suffer as they live in high humidity places that lack of ventilation such as the Hussayniyat and the processions deployed on the main roads leading to the city of Karbala, and because of the large number of the inhabitants in small areas causing the spread of this disease.
In order to mitigate their suffering and to limit the spread of this disease, the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine represented by the Relief Commission of the displaced, has provided large quantities of medical treatments for this disease from reliable medical sources in cooperation with the health departments in the province to treat them in the field and to work on some cases by changing their mattresses and disinfecting the place.
It is to note that the Iraqi High commission for Human Rights has reported in 2015 the existence of 1700 people infected with scabies in the ranks of the displaced in the province of Karbala, as well as others transiting diseases.
It is to mention that out of its moral duty that goes along with the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority to stand with the displaced families, the Holy Shrine of Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) has formed an ad hoc committee to oversee the reception of displaced people coming from the hotspots that witnessed killings and displacement, and works to create the accommodation necessities and living conditions, within the available means for this purpose. Noting that the number of the displaced people who were received, reached more than 20.000 people, mostly residents of the city of Tal-Afar who, were expelled for sectarian reasons.
