The sorrows of the lovers and followers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) are revived with the martyrdom anniversary of the seventh Imam Musa Al-Kadhem (peace be upon him) on the twenty-fifth of the holy month of Rajab, recalling the calamities that befell on him like a sweeping torrent since the martyrdom of his father Imam Ja'far As-Sadeq (peace be upon him), and Harun the Abbasid taking the reigns of power, who was known by his extreme hostility to the descendants of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household), and who worked on the forced disappearance of Imam Musa Al-Kadhem (peace be upon him) as he has put him in underground prison cells that were unprecedented in history in terms of cruelty and violence.
He then began to jail the Imam in Basra then to many other prisons until his last prison; the Sindi prison in Baghdad, where he ordered to chain the Imam (peace be upon him) with thirty pounds of iron chains, in which he remained shackled until he (peace be upon him) was martyred by poisoned.
And to commemorate this sad occasion for the lovers of the infallible Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the holy shrines in Iraq were covered with black to express the grief and sadness, and black banners in which words about the Imam (peace be upon him) were hung.
On the other hand, each of the holy shrines is prepared to establish mourning and funeral rituals to commemorate this calamity.
