The opening ceremony
The ceremony, which has a large turnout from the people of Ahvaz city in addition to the presence of a number of virtuous scholars and some of the officials in the province, along with the delegations of the holy shrines consisting of several members representing their respective religious, cultural and media departments, has started by the recitation of verses of the Holy Quran by the Reader and Mu'ezzin of the Imam Al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine; Mustafa Al-Ghalibi, and reading Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of the sacred defence in Iraq and Islamic nation. During the ceremony, many have delivered their words, chant or poem participations and other varied activities.
The first word was of Mr. Mazar'i the head of the holy shrines in Ahvaz city, in which he has welcomed the delegations of the holy shrines and showed the importance and the role of this second cultural week for the believing people in this city, concluding it with words of thanks and gratitude to those in charge of this project, for its noble goals and its varied cultural and awareness activities.
Mr. Afdhal Al-Shami, Deputy Secretary General of the Imam Al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine, the representative of the holy shrines has greeted and congratulated the presence for the great Eid and welcomed them and said: "It is a pleasure and a honour to be at your service today, while we are opening the second cultural week in Ahvaz city, and I am glad to convey to you the greetings from your brothers working in the holy shrines, especially the High Responsible of the Imam Al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine; Sheikh Abd Al-Mahdi Al-Karbalai', and Sayed Ahmed Al-Safi the High Responsible of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Sheikh Sattar Al-Murshedi the head of the administration of Imam Al-'Askari's (p) holy shrine, and the greetings of the two shrines of Imam Ali and Imam Kadhem and Imam Al-Jawad (peace be upon them), which have apologized for the participation because they are busy with the celebrations of Eid Al-Ghadeer..."
Concluding by thanking all those who contributed to the success of this cultural week, the participating holy shrines and all the attendance.
Followed by the word of Sheikh Muhsin Al-Haydari, representing the people of Ahvaz city, in which he talked about the importance and greatness of this occasion of the glorious Eid Al-Ghadeer, in which the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them) was nominated as successor and guardian by the Almighty Allah, and then spoke about the long Islamic history of this city and its relation to the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), as it is the first gate of Islam to Persia, and it is a city associated to Shia since it was opened in the era of the Commander of the Faithful Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them) by his closest companions, such as 'Amar Ibn Yassir.
Then he concluded his word by praising the efforts of the holy shrines to celebrate this great occasion in this ancient city, and has also presented the thanks to all those in charge, the participants, the supporters and the attendees of this cultural week.
The opening ceremony continued by chants and poems presented by the Al-Mishkat chanting band from Ahvaz city, delighting the presence by their poetic verses and beautiful voices chanting about love and loyalty, followed by the participation of the poet Salem Al-Salimi also from Ahvaz city, as it is full of talents lovers of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The opening ceremony was concluded by a contest to choose five winners to visit the holy city of Karbala, as a gift from the Imam Al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine, then the attendees headed to raise the flag of Imam Aba Abdillah Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and opening the book fair.
Mr. Ali Kadhem Sultan the public activities department official at the Imam Al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine explained to Al-Kafeel Network that this cultural week includes many varied activities which will be launched tomorrow, including seminars, Quranic and poem evenings in addition to a competition. And it is heartening to see the large turnout since the first day of this cultural week, reflecting the awareness of this city's people and their love for Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and also the effective participations of our holy shrines either in the exhibitions or in the varied activities.
For his part, Mr. Jassam Al-S'idi, the official of the pavilion of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has also spoke about the large and interacting turnout at the pavilion of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for carrying the spirituality and scent of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and which of its publications were distributed for free to the visitors of the exhibition. Also displaying the holy dome's flag of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) had great impact in the hearts of the lovers, who have expressed with their tears their longing and loyalty to the holy Household while hugging it and kissing it warmly.
