The works of Islamic ornamentation and inscriptions continue in the gate of Qiblah of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

After the completion of the front panel of the Qiblah gate of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) like the rest of the gates of the holy shrine, the works of ornamentation and inscription began in its interior side as it is one of the main gates and entrances of the holy sanctuary and the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine represented by its Project Department has given great importance to its design for the specificity and spirituality of the holy shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in the hearts of the visitors.

The head of the engineering projects Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the body overseeing directly the implementation of this project, has explained: "The expansion project of the gates of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine had the idea to make these gates embrace the old ones to form together an integrated architectural piece of art in terms of the design and implementation, making both of them as one gate. It is expanded so its width is of 11 meters and almost 11 meters of height. The works are conducted currently in the final stage of the finishing the interior of this ate including covering it with the streaky Kashi Karbalai of the same kind used in the Iwans of the holy shrine to create a state of architectural and technical symmetry, decorated by the golden Muqarnas in harmony with the old inscriptions and what is present in the interior of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine."

And he added: "The inscriptions and decorations in these entrances were of six large arches with a golden frame including inscriptions and decorations engraved on Kashi Karbalai, bringing together the authenticity of the heritage and the modernity in the execution. Other arches ascend these arches that are based on top of the pyramid of each two arches, so the three arches are all framed with pure gold and embrace a decorated strip and Quranic inscriptions. The arc's top is attached to a gilded frame that surrounds the gate's ceiling from the inside. And these works are repeated in both sides of the entrances."

Explaining: "These works were preceded by other works of cleaning the walls and then covering them with special materials that help the adhesion of the Kashi Karbalai in addition to the installation of layers of the metal clamp."

It is to note that the stages of the gate's project are part of the large and vital project of the expansion of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, making the new gates embracing the old ones, investing in larger areas and using Islamic inscriptions and decorations with beautiful artistic connotations, according to the design and location of each gate, in order to welcome larger numbers of visitors and Hussayni processions entering the holy shrine. These gates were designed and executed by Ard Qods Company for Constructions and under the direct field supervision of the Engineering Projects Department at the holy shrine, as these gates should be implemented with high operational accuracy because of the artistic and technical pieces such as the Muqarnas and inscriptions that need great time and high precision in the execution."
