"Doctors without wages" continues and this time in two deprived areas in the province of Karbala, and the management of al-Kafeel Hospital confirms that its ambition is to reach all disadvantaged areas in Iraq.

A humanitarian project adopted by the al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine entitled: "Doctors without wages" that has been widely welcomed by the beneficiaries because it is being presented for the first time and implemented in this way, aiming to provide medical services and treatment free of charge to the residents of remote and poor areas inside and outside of the province of Karbala. And thanks to its achieved medical results, the hospital management has put it within its priorities and harnessed for it all the human resources of doctors and nurses, and medicines and medical treatments, because most of these areas suffer from a lack of medical services.

The program targeted two areas in the province of Karbala, because of receiving many appeals by the people of these areas. The first stop was at Freyha one of the neighborhood southern Karbala on the road to Hillah, in which more than eight hundred cases were examined, because of the high density in these areas. The second stop was at Haswat 'Awn area northeast of the province on the road to Baghdad, and it is also one of deprived areas suffering from medical problems and signs of outbreaks of skin diseases. Based on the appeals from its residents, the team went to this area to examine and diagnose more than 450 cases, all free of charge.

And according to the statement of the Director-General of the Hospital Dr. Haidar al-Bahadli: "The tours of the "Doctors without wages" project continue to cover the most deprived areas in Iraq, which is our ambition on which we will work. And this time, the tour included two areas and the medical and therapeutic services that were provided free of charge, included the eye tests and diagnose of the ophthalmological diseases in addition to the examination of children and providing the treatment for free, as well as the examination of diseases of internal medicine for the adults and providing them with the necessary treatment for each case, in addition to being accompanied by a nursing staff to treat the wounds and diabetic foot using Dermacyn."

He added: "We will expand this program providing it with the medical and nursing staff as well as the necessary treatments to include the people of the poor and deprived areas in the other provinces according to a temporal and spatial plan prepared by the hospital administration.

Dr. al-Bahadli continued: "Many of the examined cases cannot be treated on the spot so the team referred them to the hospital, and we have conducted many operations for the patients referred by the team of "Doctors without wages".

It is to note that the project of "Doctors without wage", which was launched in the holy city of Karbala, aims to:

First: Check the pathological cases in the areas that suffer shortages in the presence of medical centres.

Second: Prescribing the appropriate treatment and giving it under the supervision of specialist doctors.

Third: Contributing to alleviate the burden on citizens' health.

Fourth: Educating medically the residents of these areas and giving them medical instructions.

Fifth: Referring the incurable cases to the hospital and supervising to give them the appropriate treatment after diagnosis.

Sixth: Seeing in the field the pathologies of the patients in these areas to find suitable treatments.
