Within the series of its educational projects: The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine opens al-Qamar primary school for girls.

In conjunction with the birth anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and under the auspices of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the Department of education and higher education has opened on Tuesday 13th of Rajab, 1438 AH corresponding to the 11th of April 2017 the al-Qamar primary school for girls within the group of schools of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) located in the area of Hay al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). And this comes as part of the educational projects that are implemented by the holy shrine to improve the educational field in the country.

The opening ceremony, which was attended by the High Senior of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and its Secretary-General, a number of officials and the general manager of education in the province of Karbala in addition to a wide gathering of teachers and students, has started with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reading al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the word of the High Senior of the holy shrine, his eminence Sayed Ahmed al-Safi.

Then a group of schoolgirls from the martyrs daughters was honored, after which a group of the schoolgirls has presented a play about the sacrifices of the popular mobilization heroes and a poem about the virtues of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) followed by a debate between classical Arabic and dialect, and a representative scene in English about the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and his followers and lovers.

Followed by a scientific play showing the process of plant photosynthesis, and then the ceremony was concluded by the distribution of certificates of appreciation to a number of engineers and personalities who have contributed to the completion of the school construction.

Then the Senior Official of the holy shrine and its accompanying delegation had a tour in the corridors of the school, to see its scientific, artistic and electronic labs, its library and its restaurant.
