The Dutch Ambassador to Iraq has the honor of visiting the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and sees some of its projects.

Within the series of visits to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine by the delegations and religious, cultural and political figures, the Dutch Ambassador in Iraq; Mr. Jan Waltmans has visited the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine on Wednesday the 14th of Rajab 1438 AH corresponding to the 12th of April 2017, and he was received by a number of its officials headed by its Secretary General Engineer Mohamad al-Ashiqar in the hall of Ceremonies inside the holy shrine. The two sides have exchanges views on the development of relations and means of cooperation between the two countries.

Then, the Ambassador toured in the holy shrine to see a number of its projects, including the roofing project, the communication system, surveillance cameras and the al-Kafeel museum of treasures and manuscripts.

Al-Kafeel Network met with the Dutch Ambassador Mr. Jan Waltmans who has stated: "As ambassador in Iraq, it was necessary for me to visit the provinces of Iraq, in particular the holy city of Karbala, for its religious nature and its status for many visitors that come to visit from all over the world. And it is a great opportunity to visit this city as it has a historical and religious depth. This visit aims to develop relations between the Netherlands and Iraq in order to increase cooperation especially in the field of agriculture, as I have visited the governor of Karbala, its governorate Council as well as the University of Karbala, and we are now guests of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and we have met with its Secretary-General with whom we have spoken about the means of cooperation."

Indicating: "We had a tour in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and we have seen the expansion and roofing projects as well as the communications system and the surveillance cameras, and we have found it very wonderful. We have also visited the al-Kafeel Museum of treasures and manuscripts, and we were impressed by the good organization and modern presentation of these rare treasures of old different ages. As for the situation in Iraq, we are really happy to see that ISIL is being eradicated in Iraq by the heroes of its fighters, and we wish security and stability for Iraq. And at the end of this visit I would like to thank the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the great hospitality."
