The opening of the hospital of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) in the province of Najaf.

The office of His Eminence the supreme religious authority Sayed Ali al-Sistani in Najaf on Wednesday the 14th of Rajab 1438 AH corresponding to the 12th of April 2017, has inaugurated the specialized hospital the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) which was sponsored and funded by His Eminence's office. This opening of this blessed project came in coincidence with the auspicious birth anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) aiming to help the poor and the needy by conducting the surgeries at at the minimal cost without any material gain.

The inauguration of the hospital was attended by the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine His Eminence Sayed Ahmed al-Safi, the Engineer Sayed Mohamad al-Ashiqar the Secretary General of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and a number of its distinguished officials as well as a large number of scientific personalities and representatives of the religious authorities, the scholars and teachers of the Hawza in addition to the people of the holy city of Najaf.

The supervisory body of the project has stated: "The hospital of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) located near the court of Najaf, which was built by order and guidance of His Eminence of the Supreme Religious Authority Sayed Sistani, and it is a specialized hospital in eye, heart and general surgeries. Containing 200 beds built on an area of 2250 m2 consisting of seven floors in addition to consulting clinics and six operating theatres that have the latest medical devices, three of them for eyes and the three others are dedicated to general surgery."

Adding: "This hospital sends a message to the world that Iraq is still steadfast and alive and continues to build and rebuild despite the conditions it is going through and the vicious attack by the criminal gangs and darkness bats."
