A delegation of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine attends the closing ceremony of the annual cultural festival of Baqiyyatu Allah in the great Masjid of al-Sahlah.

A delegation of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine chaired by the Deputy Head of the Department of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, Sayed 'Aqeel Abd al-Hussayn al-Yassiri, has attended the closing ceremony of the tenth annual cultural festival of Baqiyyatu Allah held by the Secretariat of the great Masjid of al-Sahlah to celebrate the birth anniversary of the savior of the humanity; Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), which has included many activities focused about this blessed auspicious occasion.

The closing ceremony, which was held in the main hall of the Masjid, was attended by a great presence of religious, political and cultural figures, such as the head of the Shiite Endowment, Sayed Alaa al-Mousawi, a number of the Secretaries of the holy shrines and sites, as well as the representatives of the religious authorities' offices and a large number of visitors.

The ceremony started with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the word of the Secretariat of the Great Masjid of al-Sahlah, delivered by the Secretary-General of the Al-Sahla Masjid, Dr. Mudar Al-Sayyid Ali Khan Al-Madani. Followed by the word of the head of the Shiite Endowment, Sayed Alaa Al-Mousawi, in which he has spoken about the importance of praying for the Faraj of our Imam (peace be upon him and may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) and then praised the efforts of the secretariat of the Sahlah Mosque for the establishment of this festival in which the matter of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon him) is revived. Then the Secretariat of the Masjid Al-Sahlah has presented the shield of thanks and recognition to the Eminence Sayed Alaa Al-Mousawi for his continuous efforts in supporting the Holy Place. The Secretariat of al-Sahlah Masjid has also honored Mr. Salam Al-Khafaji, Director of the Shiite Waqf in Najaf. The closing ceremony also included speeches by religious and non-religious personalities and delivering a number of poems about the occasion.

At the end of the ceremony, the general library of the great Masjid al-Sahlah was inaugurated in the courtyard of Lady Narjis (peace be upon her) adjacent to the great Masjid, including thousands of books in various religious, scientific and humanitarian disciplines. Also, a department of electronic library was inaugurated to provide the visitors with more than hundred thousand e-books in all disciplines.
