The al-Abbas's (p) Holy shrine attends the 10th annual cultural festival of at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him)

Within its series of participations in the events held by the holy shrines and sanctuaries, a delegation represented the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in the tenth annual cultural festival of at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him) held under the auspices of the Secretariat of the holy Shiite sanctuaries and under the supervision of the Secretariat of the sanctuary of Maitham at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him), under the slogan "Maitham at-Tammar; the strong believer".

The opening ceremony of the festival was attended by several prominent religious figures from the scholars and students of the religious and cultural Hawza, university professors, poets and an elite of the artists and journalists. The ceremony started by the recitation of verses of the holy Quran followed by reading Surat al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs, especially the martyrs of the recent criminal incident of Nasiriyah.

Sheikh Khalifa al-Jawhar, Secretary of the sanctuary, has then welcomed the audience in the word he presented to address some aspects of the life of at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him) through the Hadith and narrations of the Holy Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) and the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) about him and the interest given to him by the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali Ibn abi Taleb (peace be upon him). At the end of his word, he has thanked the audience for their presence as well as satellite channels and media for their continuous coverage of the condolences Majlis and the festival activities.

Then Sayed 'ezzedin al-Hakim the son of the great religious authority; Sayed Mohamad Saeed al-Hakim, to speak about the blessed biography of at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him) as well as his knowledge and wisdom inspired by his master Ali Ibn abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them).

Then, the thinker and Islamic researcher; Sayed Mohamad Ali al-Helo has presented his word about the biography of at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him) from various aspects, especially his important leading and revolutionary personality and how he faced the tyrants in his time for the sake of Islam and the raising of the word of "There is no God but Allah", and how to get inspired from his spirit and personality strength on all times.

The creative poet Mohammed al-A'ajibi has participated with several poems including those about at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him).

At the end, the attendees headed to the opening of a photo exhibition held on the sidelines of the festival in cooperation with the association of the Creativity House for the Photography.

For his part, the deputy head of the Shiite Endowment; Sheikh Sami al-Mas'oudi said: "The festival of Maytham at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him) is a good step taken by the special secretariat of the sanctuary of Maytham at-Tammar (may Allah be pleased with him) to shed the light on the most important aspects of honorable life, and this festival has the obvious effect in uncovering and showing the important aspects in the life of this great Islamic personality after that the rulers of injustice and misguidance tried to blur and falsify the facts through history."
