The servants of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in the Department of Service Affairs begin cleaning the city of Karbala in preparation for the revival of the Ziyarat Arba'een.

The service staff in the Department of Service Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launched on Tuesday morning 26th of Muharram 1439 AH corresponding to the October 17, 2017 a major campaign to clean the city of Karbala from the accumulation of waste, in preparation for receiving visitors from inside and outside Iraq to revive of the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

These works are part of the campaign launched by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the purpose of relieving the burden of citizens and showing the streets of the city beautiful in the eyes of the visitors. And this initiative is not the first one conducted by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, but was preceded by many campaigns in many areas.

The Director of the Cleaning Division at the Service Department; Mr. Riyadh Khudhayr Hasan spoke about this campaign saying: "Under the direction of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and the head of the service affairs department; Haj Khalil al-Hanoon to clean the old city, the Division staff launched since 7 a.m. the cleaning works in preparation for receiving the visitors of the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him). The staff of the cleaning division started the cleaning works and removing the waste from the main and secondary streets, starting from the street of the right and left palms of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) up to the Road of Maitham al-Tammar. The cleaning campaign continues on a daily basis until after the Ziyarat Arba'een."

Adding: "The purpose of this work is to clean up the holy city and show its beauty, especially as we continuously receive the visitors of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them)."
