The flag of "The Standard Bearer of al-Hussayn" fluttering above the host of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and announces the start of its services to the visitors of Arba'een.

As usual every year at the beginning of the Ziyarat season of Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), the external host of the holy shrine on the road (Karbala - Najaf) held the rituals of raising the flag of the generosity to announce the readiness to receive the visitors and to provide the various services to them, who are accustomed to seeing this flag fluttering high every year above the host site.

These rituals were held on the morning of the 29th of Muharram 1439 AH corresponding to the October 21, 2017 in the courtyard of the external host in the presence of the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; his eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, its Secretary General; Engineer Mohamad al-Ashigar and a number of the officials of the holy shrine, as well as a group of the scholars, clan elders, security officials and others.

These rituals began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; "Pride's tune".

Followed by the word of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered to the audience by Sayed Adnan al-Musawi from the Department of Religious Affairs, in which he recalled one of the scenes of the tragedy of at-Taf; the return of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her) after forty days to her brothers Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), reminding the great moments of that tragedy, and also the annual rituals of replacing the flags of the shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl (peace be upon both of them) from red to black, and this day another flag is raised above the first of the host complexes of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him). Congratulations for this blessed rite, as these flags are a victory of God to the Master of the martyrs and his loyal companions, especially his standard-bearer, and his great minister, his beloved brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which is a response to those who want to extinguish the light of God, but Allah refuses except to perfect His light."

Adding: "There are those who carry al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) in their hearts and faith, following the path of his supporters, like our heroic security forces and our popular mobilization who responded to the call of the supreme religious authority and made incredible sacrifices for the sake of this homeland and its sanctities, to join the convoy of the martyrs."

Then the Hussayni Radood Hamid al-Tamimi recited an elegy about the return of the captives to Karbala, making the hearts of the lovers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) weep blood.

The attendees then assisted on funerary tune to the raise of the flag of generosity to flutter high in the sky of Karbala, like if it was the palm of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) waving to the visitors that they may enter Karbala safely.

It is to mention that the flag is raised on a mast is of 40 meters height, and the width of the flag is of 13 meters and 17 meters of height, on which it was written on both side: "Peace be upon you O standard bearer of al-Hussayn peace be upon him."
