People from Basra and those who joined them are heading on foot towards Karbala to commemorate the rituals of the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

The province of Basra is the first starting point for the visitors of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) for the Ziyarat Arba'een, as since three days, the march of the Hussayni love started from the area of Ras al-Bisha in the al-Faw District far south of Basra, walking on foot to the holy city of Karbala to commemorate the Ziyarat Arba'een, with a large participation of the mourners from inside Iraq and others from the neighboring countries, as this province overlooks the border ports with Kuwait and Iran in addition to its international airport, all of whom they walk about 25 to 40 km per day, each according to his capacity.

This march is accompanied by a security and service mobilization by the security and service departments in the province, as well as the owners of the Hussayni processions along the side roads taken by the visitors, expressing the finest means of sacrifice and giving to serve them and to provide free food and drink and places where they can rest and sleep, where services tents were erected and Hussaynyat and houses opened their doors, equipped with medical treatments.

It is noteworthy that the number of procession, which are honored to provide service to the visitors walking towards the holy city of Karbala within the administrative border of the province of Basra, reached more than 1750 service procession without counting the Hussaynyat and houses that were not registered.
