The watering division of the Service Affairs Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine started to manufacture water tankers carriers and began spreading them in the areas and the roads leading to the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), as part of its plan of the hot summer months in collaboration with the Department of Engineering maintenance at the holy shrine.

The head of the division, Haj Ahmad al-Hanoon has briefed us on this project, saying: "The idea of establishing the carriers came after we found that the old method is useless and also because the water thankers are subject to pollution while using them in drinking water either directly, which a not civilized method, so we thought of an alternative way and we created these carriers."

And he added: "Each carrier contains four water tankers of 40 liters, placed horizontally and covered with a metal cover that can be opened by the person supervising this process manually, to close it and seal it in a way that no one can open it, near each carrier there is a reservoir of a water capacity of 1000 liters equipped with cold water to supply the water tankers when they run out of water."

Mr. Hanoon continued: "With this process, there are other benefits as there was difficulty for the water tank trucks that provide water to water reservoirs to move especially during the days of the Ziyarat, but now the process is centralized through the reservoirs next to each tank carrier. We have put a number of them as a first phase, and in the next phases we will cover all our outlets to provide water to the visitors."
