The library of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds an exhibition of rare documents and historical manuscripts at the Baghdadi Cultural Center.

The Division of Library and House of Manuscripts of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, has organized in cooperation with the Baghdadi Cultural Center, an exhibition of manuscripts, documents and publications, in which the Center for Manuscript Imaging and Indexing, Unit of authorship and studies and Center of the heritage revival in the Library's Division, have participated.

The exhibition, which was hosted in Mohammed Ghani Hekmat Hall in the Baghdadi Cultural Center, in which their products were divided into three pavilions according to the specialization of each side. The Center for Manuscripts Imaging and Indexing has displayed pictures of the rare manuscripts of the Holy Quran, dating from the first century until the thirteenth century AH, it also displayed pictures of historical documents representing different periods of Islamic history, including the painting of earth of Sharif al-Idrisi dating back to the sixth century AH, that represents the oldest map of the world painted in that period, and another document; the water document dating back to the Ottoman era, which is a complain of the people of Najaf to the scholars of religion in that period because of water scarcity and interruption. A series of publications of the center were displayed, such as manuscript indexes and the Holy Quran written by Ibn al-Bawab.

As for the pavilion of the unit of authorship and studies, it included a presentation of a collection of its works, including volumes on the biography of Qamar [The Moon of] Bani Hashim (peace be upon him), book of "Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas in literature and Arabic poetry" and a series of specialized studies on the character of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).

The Heritage Revival Center has also an important pavilion. It presented a valuable collection of its various products, including the book "Aqrab al-Majazat", "Al-Khizana Magazine" and other books devoted to the study and investigation of manuscripts, as well as a series of its investigations.

A total of 16 manuscripts and documents were exhibited in these pavilions, dating back to the first century AH until the thirteenth century AH, and 70 displayed books, including the investigated and the written ones, with the presentation of samples of Iraqi, Arab and foreign libraries' seals.

The exhibition was praised and appreciated by the visitors, noting that the exhibition was covered by most of the satellite channels and was an opportunity to see its treasures.

It is noteworthy that this exhibition is part of a series of exhibitions in which the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has participated, to show and display the potentials of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in this field, which were harnessed to preserve the heritage and to strengthen the bonds of the joint relations between the holy shrine and other institutions.
