The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) thanked the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine on its official account on Twitter. The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) thanked the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine for its contribution to providing statistics on the Iraqi libraries of various types and specialties, in order to add Iraq to the global map of the libraries managed by the IFLA. The library of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine worked on collecting statistics and data of the libraries of Iraq from south to north. And after several months of continuous work, data collection and arrangement were completed, followed by the correspondence and follow-up with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions to upload information to the LIBRARY MAP OF THE WORLD.

After having achieved the requirements and conditions of the Federation and its participation in the International Library and Information Conference (WLIC 2018) held in Kuala Lumpur last year, and the direct meeting with the responsible of the map of the world libraries, the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine was accredited as the only official contributor representing Iraq in the map of world libraries (LIBRARY MAP OF THE WORLD).

The International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) is the most important international organization representing the interests of libraries, information facilities and beneficiaries. It is the voice of libraries and documentarians in the world. It includes members from 150 countries around the world. IFLA is a Class A consultant to the UNESCO, observer to the United Nations, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and the World Trade Organization (WTO). It is also a member of the Scientific Council of Scientific Unions. It is a member of the International Council of Archives, the International Council of Museums and the International Council of sites and the International Committee of the Blue Shield, which aims to collect, disseminate information and cooperate in the event of cultural property being jeopardized.
