The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is covered in black announcing the sorrows season in the holy month of Ramadhan.

The month of Ramadhan in the forty year of immigration, and it carries among its events the greatest catastrophe that passed to Muslims after they lost their Prophet (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family), which is the wound and martyrdom of the righteous Imam and the dragonfly of the religion, the Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), this catastrophe that was planned and executed by the most miserable of all, Abd al-Rahman bin Maljam al-Muradi (may God curse him).
In remembrance of this sad memory that begins with the incident of the wounding of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) on the night of the eighteenth of the Holy Month, the wall of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was covered in black by the servants from the care department of the holy sanctuary, who hung banners on which holy narrations recalling this tragedy were written, along with black flags that were raised and red lights were lit, to glorify this painful occasion and consoling to the Great Messenger and his family (Allah's prayers be upon them.
