Condolence processions [Zinjeel] flow to the two holy shrines.

From early morning of the 16th of Safar 1442 AH corresponding to the October 4, 2020, the condolences' processions "Zinjeel" started entering to the two holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) to present their condolences for the Arba'een of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) coming from various Iraqi provinces.

The movement of these processions is done according to the schedule developed by the Department of rituals and Hussayni processions of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), which employees along with the department of maintaining order and the sanctuary's care and a group of volunteers were deployed to organize the movement of the processions according to tracks placed inside the two holy shrines and in the area between the two holy shrine, to not intercede with the movement of visitors, which numbers began to increase.

This comes in the midst of strict precautionary measures, whether by those in charge of the processions, or by the servants of the Holy Shrines of the Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), taking into account the application of all health measures recommended by the supreme religious authority and the relevant authorities, which urge the achievement of the principle of social distancing and taking all preventive measures from wearing masks and gloves in addition to sterilization, taking into account the current circumstance and the repercussions of the spread of the Corona epidemic.

The starting point of these procession was from the street of Qibla of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) to enter his holy shrine then to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) passing by the area between the two holy shrines, chanting elegies that embody this calamity.

The Zinjeel processions are in form of long lines of mourners moving in parallel along the two sides of the street they are walking through, in the middle a number of young men raising flags and others are beating large sized drums [Ampongabe] "Dammamat" along with trumpets giving the rhythm to the Zinjeel to be raised and beat the backs of the mourners. The masses of visitors gathered on both sides of the street, eagerly following the flow of the Hussayni processions, which make the spirit more attached to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
