The Office of His Eminence, the Supreme Religious Authority: The first day of the month of Rabi' al-Awwal is Monday.

The office of His Eminence Sayed al-Sistani announced that the crescent moon was not seen with the naked eye in Iraq and the surrounding regions, after sunset on Saturday (29th month of Safar), and thus Sunday is the last day of this month and Monday is the first day of the month of Rabi` al-Awwal 1442 AH, may God make it a month of goodness and blessing for all Muslims.
