The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds the Festival of the as-Siddiqa al-Kubra [Lady Fatima] (peace be upon her).

Today, Monday morning (4 Jumada II 1442 AH) corresponding to (January 18, 2021), the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, represented by the Division of University and School Relations, organized the as- Siddiqa al-Kubra Festival (peace be upon her), which activities were held at Imam al-Kadhem College (peace be upon him) - sections of Babylon.

The festival came to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Lady. Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her). It was attended by the dean of the college, heads of its departments and guests from outside the college, as well as a delegation representing the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

About this festival, the head of the University Relations Unit in the aforementioned department, Muntadher Al-Safi, explained to the Al-Kafeel Network, saying: “The main goal of the festival is to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Siddiqa lady Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), in addition to investing such great events to enhance communication between us and the professors and students of Universities, through their participation in the poetry and theatrical activities of the festival."

He added: "The festival included many parts in which there was a word about the life of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her) presented by Sayed. Mohamad Al-Mousawi, head of the Religious Guidance Division in the Religious Affairs Department of the Holy Shrine, in which he explained the status of the immaculate lady (peace be upon her) with God and with her father, the Messenger of God (may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family). He also demonstrated her great role in Islam and the valuable scientific legacy that her life represents."

Al-Safi continued: “The festival also included poetic and theatrical performances, in addition to honoring female students who wear the Iraqi abaya." "The festival was concluded by opening the central library of the College of Imam al-Kadhem (peace be upon him), which was rehabilitated by the staffs of engineering maintenance and constructions of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and which was also provided with a large number of scientific books by the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department."

It is noteworthy that the University and School Relations Division of the Public Relations Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine conducts several activities, events and cultural festivals, in cooperation with Iraqi universities throughout the year.
