The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds its annual council to commemorate the death anniversary of Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her).

In commemoration of the death anniversary of the venerable Lady Umm al-Baneen (peace be upon her), the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held its annual mourning council, which is a tradition that it has consistently established in commemorating the sorrows of the House of the Great Messenger of Allah; Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon them).
The council that was held in the hall of ceremonies of the Holy Shrine began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a religious lecture given by Sheikh Mohsen Al-Asadi from the Department of Religious Affairs, through which he highlighted several aspects of the life of Lady Umm Al-Baneen (peace be upon her), who truly knew the rights of the Ahl al-Bayt (Peace be upon them), and also spoke about her great position in the Taf tragedy when she urged her four sons to support Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), so that they would be martyred in defense of the Imam of their time and uphold the word of God Almighty.
The council was concluded by reading a number of elegies and poems that express the pain that rocks the hearts of the followers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) when the memory of this tragedy arrives.
