With the endoscopy technique: a successful cruciate ligament surgery at the al-Kafeel Hospital.

A medical team at the Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced that it had successfully implanted a cruciate ligament and repaired a tear in the meniscal cartilage, for a 30-year-old patient, using endoscopy.

Dr. Basem Dhaif Al-Bahrani, a specialist in orthopedics, fractures and sports injuries, said: “Our medical team succeeded in implanting a cruciate ligament and repairing the tear in the meniscus of a 30-year-old patient using endoscopy.”

Indicating: “The ligament that was implanted is one of the tendons located behind the thigh of the patient.”

Noting that: “The patient returned to his home the next day of the operation while he was in good health, and that he could return to his normal life after completing the medical rehabilitation phase.”
