At al-Kafeel Hospital: Operation of manufacturing a cruciate ligament for a young athlete.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced the success of the process of manufacturing a cruciate ligament using laparoscopic technology.

The specialist in orthopedic surgery, fractures and sports injuries, Dr. Abu Al-Fadl Baqeri, stated that: "Our medical team succeeded in manufacturing anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments for a young athlete," noting that: "The young man was suffering from a complete rupture of the two ligaments."

Dr. Baqeri explained that: "The operation was performed using the laparoscopic technique, through a very small incision that does not exceed three centimeters," stressing that: "the patient recovered after the operation, and began the stage of medical rehabilitation, and within a short period he will return to playing sports again."
