Shading a street adjacent to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine

The services provided by the staff of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine from its various departments and divisions are numerous and varied, in order to contribute to providing appropriate conditions for visitors or mourning processions during the Ashura Ziyarat rituals. Among these services this season is shading one of the important street adjacent to the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in order to reduce the effect of direct exposure to the sun’s rays in these hot weather.

The staff of the Engineering Maintenance and Construction Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, under the direction of the General Secretariat, placed this cloth [of Saran] that would block or reduce the effect of sunlight, on the street adjacent to the holy courtyard from its meeting point with the area adjacent to the Hawraa checking point, north of the shrine, from the holy shrine to the nearest entrance to the Qibla gate on its left side.

The street is considered a main passage for visitors and a starting point for mourning processions. The hang cloth has been linked to the space confined between the roof of the courtyard and the roof of the buildings located on the other side of the street, which is 10 meters wide.
