Mourning Activities Commemorating the Seventh Day after the Martyrdom of the Imam Hussein (PBUH)

A view of the procession
As customary rituals have been being performed, commemorating the seventh day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) is one of the very common and important customary rituals. It is basically offered in terms of gaining the deceased person divine rewards.

Muslims are used to commemorate the seventh day after the martyrdom of Imam Hussein (PBUH) where the believers feel so sad for Imam Hussein (PBUH). It is a spiritual feeling of deep sorrow and won’t be relieved until the Awaited Imam El-Mehdi (May Allah hasten his reappearance) reappears and takes revenge for the murder of his grandfather Imam Hussein (PBUH).

One of the processions that offered such a ritual was the Imam Hussein and El-Abbas Holy Shrines that marched, accompanied by many adorers of Ahlul-Bayt (PBUT), from the El-Abbas Holy Shrine towards the Imam Hussein Holy Shrine. They reiterated shouts about Imam Hussein (PBUH) expressing their sorrow and pledging allegiance to Ahlul-Bayt (PBUT).
