Dozens of young people contract their marriage at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine

The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, through its Religious Affairs Department, witnessed a large turnout of couples who are about to marry to conclude their marriage in the holy shrine seeking the blessing of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), and in celebration of the joyful occasions of this month, Rabi' al-Awwal, the first of which was the anniversary of the coronation of the Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his holy reappearance), and finally the birth anniversary of the Noble Messenger Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), which coincides with the birth anniversary of his grandson Imam as-Sadeq (peace be upon him).
The deputy head of the aforementioned department, Sheikh Adel al-Wakeel, told Al-Kafeel Network: “We stopped performing marriage contracts for young people who are about to get married in the months of Muharram and Safar, and with the advent of the first of Rabi’ al-Awwal, we began, through the Marriage Contracts Division, to perform Sharia contracts, and we noticed an increase in the numbers of the newly married couples from inside and outside Karbala.”
He added that: "Contracts are made according to special regulations, the most important of which is the presence of the guardian of both the husband and wife, and the announcement of the agreement to accept the marriage by both parties. The contract is made by one of the honorable Sayeds or sheikhs working in the department, who prays for them as they are in the beginning of their marital life to be good husband and wife, and gives them advice about the importance of their relationship and the rights and duties that the husband and wife entail, based on the narrations of the holy imams (peace be upon them) and the honorable prophetic hadiths."
It is noteworthy that the Religious Affairs Department ensures the conduct of marriage contracts free of charge, and it has established a special schedule for the conduct of legal contracts in which marriages are not contracted in some days of the year, such as on the occasions of the martyrdom anniversaries of the holy imams (peace be upon them) and the months of Muharram and Safar.
