A medical team at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital affiliated with the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced the success of a complex laparoscopic operation for a patient suffering from a congenital kidney malformation, while indicating that the operation was performed with special equipment.
Dr. Riyadh To'mah, a specialist in urology at the hospital, stated: “A 45-year-old patient was referred to the hospital suffering from back pain, and the appearance of a clear mass in the abdomen, and after conducting the necessary examinations, it was found that stones had formed in his renal pelvis,” noting that "The patient has a congenital deformity of the kidney that led to its descent into the pelvis."
To'mah added, "We performed two laparoscopic surgeries at the same time for the kidneys and abdomen, and we used special equipment to complete the operation, because it is complex and the kidneys can be damaged if they remain out of place, and it was successfully completed without any complications."
