The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine holds its central celebration on the birth anniversaries of the moons of Sha’ban

Coinciding with the birth anniversary of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine held this Sunday evening, its annual central celebration to commemorate the birth of the blessed Sha'ban moons, which will last for three days.
The ceremony, which was held in the courtyard overlooking the Qibla gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), was attended by the Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Sayed. Mustafa Mortadha Dea' al-Din, and a number of its officials, heads of departments and its servants, as well as delegations and personalities representing various bodies in addition to a large gathering of visitors.
The celebration began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Ammar al-Hilli, followed by the speech of the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine delivered by the Head of the Religious Affairs Department Sheikh Salah al-Karbalai, who began by offering congratulations to the attendees and the Islamic nation on these occasions.
He explained that "Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) is like the words of God about which the Almighty said: {“If the ocean were ink for ˹writing˺ the Words of my Lord, it would certainly run out before the Words of my Lord were finished, even if We refilled it with its equal.”}, and he (peace be upon him) the speaking Qur'an," stressing "the need for a person to strive as much as he can to get to know the personality of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), perhaps he will have a degree of Intercession on the day of his intercession."
And he indicated that "the Ziyarat of the holy imams (peace be upon them) in the month of Sha'ban is of great importance," pointing to "the importance of knowing the path of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) from various spiritual, moral and cognitive aspects."
After that, the audience listened to a selection of poems recited by the poets of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), (the poet Muhammad al-Fatimi - the poet Abu Fatima al-Aboudi), followed by chants chanted by Hussein al-'ageyli and Mohamad Amir.
After that, a lottery was held for the correct answers participating in the cultural contest of Sha'ban births, prepared by the Departments of Media and Religious Affairs at the Holy Shrine, which resulted fifteen winners.
It is hoped that the celebration will resume tomorrow, Monday, in the courtyard of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
