The holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) organized a condolence Council in Samarra in commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hassan al-'Askari (peace be upon him).

The assistant head of the Religious Affairs Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sheikh Adel al-Wakeel, said that "the council addressed the sufferings of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) and the oppression he was subjected to during that era of his life, as well as witnessed the holding of mourning ceremonies in the presence of a gathering of faithful brothers, in addition to the staff of the delegation sent by the two holy shrines to provide support to the holy shrine of Imam al-Hadi and Imam al-'Askari (peace be upon them) during the days of the Ziyarat.

"At a time when we extend our condolences to believers on this sad anniversary, we look forward to celebrate the coronation anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), and we ask Allah to help us that these ceremonies be held every year," he added.

He explained that "the delegation sent by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine provided a range of services, part of which was security, aimed at dealing with suspicious cases in accordance with the applicable legal and regulatory frameworks, as well as many other services such as the distribution of food and water, in addition to the health services provided by medical staff, and harnessing busses to transport visitors from the checkpoints to the nearest point of the shrine for free."
