The doctors of fractures and joints at Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala confirmed that the laparoscopic technique used in the operations performed at the hospital has replaced the wide surgical incision.
The specialist of orthopedic surgery, fractures and joints at the hospital, Dr. Ahmed Ni'mah, said that the majority of the operations we perform are through a small surgical incision and complete endoscopic treatment instead of the previously used method," adding that "among these operations is the removal of a tumor from the knee of a 40-year-old patient".
"The tumor has been completely removed and the patient is now in good health, noting that the laparoscopic opening does not exceed one centimeter," as explained by Dr. Ni'mah.
