Al-Abbas's Holy Shrine has held a lecture entitled: (the role of the school of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the evolution of the calligraphy and writing) ..

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine set up at the exhibition hall of the door of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) (bab alkaf) a lecture entitled: (the role of the school of Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the development of calligraphy and writing), held within the events of the calligraphy exhibition held by the Department of intellectual and Cultural Affairs of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in collaboration with the (College of Fine Arts / University of Babylon) and the Association of Iraqi calligraphers branch of the Holy city of Karbala.

The lecture was delivered by the President of the Association of Iraqi calligraphers branch of Karbala Professor Abdulkarim Mohammed Hussein, which included an explanation of the development of writing in terms of punctuation, "movement" lines on the letters and words and the rules of its drawing, in addition to the role of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), who had a major role in the development of the calligraphy.

The Al-Kafeel Network met with Professor Abdulkareem the lecturer of the session who said: "Most people do not know that the Ahl al-Bayt ( peace be upon them ) has an important and active role in the development of the calligraphy and writing throughout history , as Imam Ali (peace be upon him) is historically the first calligrapher known in the Arab world, in the sense that there was nobody before him called calligrapher in the Arab-Islamic history, and in the time where Imam Ali (peace be upon him) ruled over Kufa, he was the one who called the “Kufi” line, and he ( peace be upon him) puts the basic rules of the calligraphy and the writing, and he (peace be upon him) has about it many famous words in the history books . "

He explained: "The lecture began with a brief history about the writing since the hieroglyph and cuneiform lines and then we explained the special role of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and their followers in this field. this lecture comes at the initiative of the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine at the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of the Commander of the faithful (peace be upon him), in addition to the establishment of a comprehensive exhibition of Fine Arts with Arabic calligraphy and Islamic ornamentation. "

Concluding his speech: "We hope that all those interested in the field of heritage of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), the Arab and Islamic heritage and calligraphy art to participate in this lecture in order to follow up on this cultural and artistic topic which is raised for the first time ."

It is worth mentioning that these lectures come to inform about the calligraphy and its development as well as to create a state of intellectual and cultural communication between the Holy Shrine and the participants and visitors of the exhibition.
