The head of the relief delegation of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in Syria, Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, confirmed that work continues to cover the largest number of those affected by the earthquake.
"Within the framework of the ongoing relief efforts provided by the holy shrine to the earthquake victims in Syria, in response to the appeal of the supreme religious authority in Najaf, and the directives of the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, the distribution of aid continues for the fifth day in the agricultural villages surrounding Latakia.
"The aid was distributed in cooperation with the official authorities in Syria according to mechanisms to facilitate the process of providing assistance and cover the largest number of people affected by the earthquake,"he added.
According to al-Shami, "relief assistance includes food, medical supplies, clothes, blankets, infant formula, water and fuel," pointing to "the presence of a medical detachment equipped with special medicines for the kidneys, which are delivered to the beneficiaries in cooperation with the Syrian medical authorities."
