With the participation of Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine: The opening of the sixth annual cultural festival of the safety ..

In collaboration with the holy shrines in Iraq (of Imam Ali, Imam Al-Hussayn, Imam Al-Kadhem and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them)), the Cultural Foundation of Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him) in province of Diwaniyah has established the sixth annual cultural festival of the safety, which was held to coincide with the joys of the birth of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) under the slogan: "the signs of the appearance are lights over the ages", and that on Tuesday afternoon 18th of Sha'ban 1435 AH corresponding to 17th of June 2014, in the sports hall at the directorate of youth and sports in the province.

The opening ceremony that was attended by a number of religious, academic, cultural and political figures, as well as delegations of the holy sites and a large crowd of people of Diwaniyah, started with verses from the Quran, followed by the word of the sponsoring body of the Festival, the Cultural Foundation of Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him) delivered by Sheikh Aqeel Ali Al-Zubaidi.

To be followed by the intervention of the Deputy of the Supreme Religious Authority in the holy city of Kadhimiya, Sheikh hussain Aal Yaseen, followed by the intervention of the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them) presented by Sayed Mohamad Hussain Al-'ameedi, then Sheikh Hamsha Ashkarah from Rwanda delivered the word on behalf of the participating foreign delegations.

The opening ceremony included also the presentation of few poems from the poets Riyad Abdelghani and Mu'ayyad Narjis, as well as the participation of the chanting group of the Imam Al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine. Then, the presence went for a tour in the exhibition of drawings, calligraphy and ornamentation, the sixth cultural book fair, the exhibition of flowers and ornamental seedlings and the children's exhibition of the letters of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance).

It is worth noting that the holy shrine of Al-abbas (peace be upon him) had an distinct participation in this festival, as its department of intellectual and cultural affairs participated with a number of its publications in the book fair, its department of services (Agriculture Division) participated in the exhibition of seedlings, ornamental plants and the shade, in addition to preparing and decorating the hall of the ceremony.
