In pictures.. The conclusion of the evening activities of the first day of the seventh festival of the Holy Defense fatwa

The Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine concluded on Thursday evening the activities of the first day of the seventh edition of the annual cultural festival of the Holy Defense Fatwa.

The festival witnessed the presence of members of the board of Directors of the holy shrine and the heads of its departments, as well as the participation of many religious, official and academic figures from inside and outside Iraq.

The festival was organized by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, the Department of the al-Wafi foundation for documentation and studies, and the Al-Ameed scientific and intellectual Association, to celebrate the anniversary of the launch of the Holy Defense fatwa, under the slogan: (Religious Authorityis the fortress of the Islamic nation), in the imam al-Hassan Hall(peace be upon him) and lasts for two days.

The activities of the evening period bof the first day began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Mohammed Redha Zubaidi, followed by the speech of the Encyclopedia's work team, delivered by the director of the Iraqi Center for documentation of extremist crimes and supervisor of the work of the Speicher massacre encyclopedia, Dr. Abbas Al-Quraishi, in which he said that " the fatwa of holy defense painted the features of the Iraqi nation and its heroism by protecting the land and the holy places."،

Then a documentary film was shown about the martyrs of the Speicher massacre entitled (The Speicher massacre is a crime of the era), with poems about the massacre, followed by a speech by the families of the martyrs, as well as the unveiling of two editions of the Speicher massacre encyclopedia (coded and uncoded).

The activities of the first day of the Holy Defense fatwa festival were concluded by honoring the research team of the Encyclopedia of the martyrs of the Speicher massacre by Dr. Abbas Rashid al-Mousawi, member of the board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's(P) shrine, as well as honoring the institutions contributing to the Encyclopedia by the director of the Office of the Senior Official; Sayed Afdhal al-Shami, the head of the scientific complex of the Holy Quran at the holy shrine; Dr. Mushtaq Al-Ali, the head of the public relations department; Mr. Mohammed Ali Azhar, the head of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department; Mr. Aqeel al-Yasiri, as well as honoring a number of families of the victims of the Speicher massacre, with material and blessing gifts from the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
