Intellectual Affairs Department: our participation in the Al-Kafeel Forum for Information Technology will be through several national projects

The digital information center of the library of the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine in the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs indicated that its participation in the Al-Kafeel forum for information technology and technologies will be through several national projects.

The center's official, engineer Ammar al-Jawad, said that "the participation is a presentation of the national projects managed by the center, including the Iraqi digital repository, which contains a large number of theses, since the establishment of higher degrees in Iraqi universities to the present day, and in various scientific and humanitarian specialties, knowing that it happens constantly".

"The other project is the preservation of the Iraqi scientific product, which is one of the leading national projects, and the main idea is to digitize the Iraqi product and convert it from paper to digital format, as well as it preserves the scientific heritage of the country's thinkers and scientists, by preserving it in Long-Life Storage Media,"he added.

He added that "the Information Center is the digital portal for the sources owned by the library of the Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine, and therefore it provides a range of services to researchers and beneficiaries, including the remote lending service, which aims to deliver the source to the researcher while he is at home, as well as the service of knowing the percentage of appropriation in research and theses".

According to al-Jawad,"there is also a service for gifting sources remotely, which is represented by receiving digital sources that people would like to donate to the library of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine."
