Al-Kafeel University celebrates the birth anniversary of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her) and honors its students wearing the abaya

Al-Kafeel University held its tenth annual ceremony to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her), and to honor the female students who are committed to wearing the abaya during university hours.

The ceremony was held on Wednesday January 3, 2024, in the presence of the president of the University, Dr. Nawras Mohammed Shahid al-Dahan, and the scientific assistant, Dr. Nawal Ayed al-Mayali, along with a number of deans of colleges, heads of departments and students.

The ceremony began with a beautiful recitation of the verses of the Holy Quran, by the director of the Institute of the Holy Quran in Najaf Al-Ashraf of the scientific complex at the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine; Mr. Muhannad al-Mayali, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha on the souls of the martyrs of Iraq who responded to the call of the supreme religious authority in the fatwa of efficient defense, and the University delivered an encouraging speech urging its students to adhere to moral values and boast of Islamic identity, in order to give them confidence and enhance spirituality and morality.

The ceremony witnessed a display of handmade works of art produced by the hands of female students, and at its conclusion, the University honored the students who were committed to wearing the abaya from various colleges, stressing that they are following the example of Lady az-Zahra(peace be upon her) as an example of chastity and modesty.
