A wide turnout for the conduct of marriage contracts at the Al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine

The Department of Religious Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine witnessed a wide turnout for conducting marriage contracts, after the end of the months of sorrow, Muharram and Safar.

Sheikh Karim al-Khazali, one of the staff of the marriage contracts division of the Department, said that "the division witnessed a wide demand for conducting marriage contracts, from inside and outside the province of Karbala after the end of the months of mourning Muharram and Safar, and the beginning of the days of the coronation of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah's hasten his holy reappearance) to make the contract blessed on a blessed day and in a blessed place".

He added that"the staff of the division has used all its means to cover such large numbers, and has prepared a special place to receive them and conduct contracts for them".

Al-Khazali pointed out that"contracts are conducted within the legitimate contexts and by a special mechanism in the presence of the guardian of the husband and wife in addition to witnesses, and the contract is conducted by one of the Sayeds or sheikhs working in the Department, who prays for them in the prime of their married life to be a good husband and wife."

The division works continuously throughout the year, except for the months of Muharram, Safar and the martyrdom anniversaries of imams (peace be upon them), and the mechanism of marriage contracts is done by entering the data of both spouses in the presence of their relatives, and is considered in the Iraqi courts according to the Iraqi Personal Status Law.
