Advisor to the prime minister for Human Rights and chairman of the Higher Committee for the relief of the Palestinian and Lebanese people formed by the Iraqi government, Dr. Zeidan Khalaf Al-Atwani, praised the relief campaign of the Al-Abbas's (p) Shrine to support the Lebanese people.
This came during his visit to the stores of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine on the Najaf-Karbala road, which aims to secure humanitarian aid and send it to the Lebanese displaced in Syria as part of the holy shrine relief campaign to Lebanon.
Al-Atwani said:"the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine provides a distinguished model in organized humanitarian work, as aid is distributed according to thoughtful plans that meet the needs of beneficiaries, reflecting the Iraqi values rooted in supporting Arab brothers."
"We have reviewed a number of hotels where the guests of Iraq stay from the Lebanese people, as we have seen from them a great appreciation for the efforts exerted by the holy shrine in providing supplies and what they need,"he added.
"What we have witnessed from the abundance of food and humanitarian materials in the stores of the holy shrine shows the dedication of those responsible for this initiative, especially the donors from the people, as this contributes to achieving a humanitarian message that carries the meanings of giving and altruism,"he said.
Al-Atwani stressed that these ongoing humanitarian initiatives confirm Iraq's leading role in supporting peoples and strengthening human solidarity in the most difficult circumstances.
