Al-Abbas's (P) Shrine farms contribute to strengthening the local market with international varieties of wheat crop

Al-Kafeel company for Public Investments, a subsidiary of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, continues to support the local market with international varieties of wheat crop.

"The wheat grown on an area of 1,500 dunums from the farms of Khairat Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) is characterized by high-quality local and international origin,"said Ali Maz'al-Layedh, assistant director of agricultural and livestock affairs at the company."

"The irrigation of agricultural lands is carried out using ponds and Wells, in addition to axial sprinklers, which cover an area of 68 and 80 dunums in various locations,"he added.
"The agricultural season begins with the planting of the wheat crop at the beginning of November, and it is harvested at the end of April,"explained Layedh.

He pointed out that"several factors contribute to the production of a world-class wheat crop, such as the selection of high-quality seeds, plowing the land, fertilizing, feeding, in addition to the elimination of weeds, and the use of bio-fertilizers".

He stressed that "the Iraqi local expertise overseeing the project has extensive experience, thanks to the implementation of many agricultural projects sponsored by the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, which contributes to ensuring the success of these projects and achieving the highest quality levels".

The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is keen to support local markets by cultivating 19 thousand dunums with various agricultural crops of international quality.
