Al-Kafeel University Honors 600 female students who are committed to wearing the Islamic abaya

Al-Kafeel University honored 600 female students committed to wear the Islamic abaya as part of its eleventh annual ceremony.

The ceremony, which was held to celebrate the birth anniversary of Our Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her), was attended by the president of the Higher Education Authority, Dr. Abbas Rashid Al-Deda, and the president of Al-Kafeel University, Dr. Nawraa Mohammed Shahid Al-Dahan, along with a number of deans of colleges, heads of departments, and students.

The ceremony began with a beautiful recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, by the reader of the Holy Quran Institute of the scientific complex at the holy shrine, Mr. Ali al-Zubaidi, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of female students who are committed to wearing the abaya during university hours, as a confirmation of the University's adherence to educational values and the Islamic approach.

The director of the Department of psychological counseling and educational guidance at the University, Sheikh Hossam Ali Hassan al-Obeidi, said that "Al-Kafeel University has been keen for 11 years to honor students who are committed to wearing the abaya during university hours".

He added that"the ceremony is being held under the auspices of the Senior Official of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi, to embody the Supreme educational value and strengthen the approach established by Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her)".

Al-Obaidi pointed out that"the ceremony witnessed the honoring of about 600 students from various faculties of the University, and we see the impact of this honor is evident in increasing the number of honored female students every year".

The ceremony included a song and prayers segment presented by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Dujaili, during which he discussed the status of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her) and her role in Islam, inspired by the lessons from her life.
Al-Kafeel University is keen to adhere to Islamic values and promote moral identity among its students, inspired by the approach of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her) as a role model.
