The Department of Hussayni Rituals, Processions and Organizations supervised the organization of the movement of mourners to perform the condolence ceremony.
The procession witnessed the participation of the secretary general of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine:Sayed Mustafa Mortada Aal Dia-Uddin, the member of its board of Directors; Dr. Afdhal al-Shami, a number of its officials and employees, and a gathering of mourners.
One of the staffs of the Department, Mr. Haider Ibrahim, said:"the people of Karbala held their condolences on the death anniversary of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), in cooperation with the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
He added that"the procession started from the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), heading to the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), passing through the square between the Two Holy Shrines to offer condolences to them".
Ibrahim explained that "the department worked to organize the movement of processions and mourners participating in them and overcome difficulties in order to commemorate this sad anniversary and facilitate the performance of the condolence ceremony".
For his part, one of the participants in the procession, Mr. Laith Al-Kashwan, said that "the mourners participating in the procession of the people of Karbala, set off from the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) towards the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), reaching the shrine of Tal al-Zainabi; carrying candles and chanting Karbala elegies; in order to offer condolences to the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), on the death anniversary of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her)".
"The procession was organized with the participation of the two holy shrines and their support in order to commemorate this sad anniversary,"he explained.
