The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has concluded the activities of the seventh annual ceremony to honor Iraqi abaya-wearing students at universities in the province of Babylon.
The ceremony was organized by the public relations department at the holy shrine, under the slogan (the abaya is chastity and jihad), within the framework of the Al-Kafeel National Youth project, in cooperation with the Office of the Senior Official for women's affairs, in conjunction with the anniversary of the Blessed Sha'ban birth anniversaries.
The ceremony was held for three days at the Sheikh al-Kulayni Complex, with the participation of more than 2000 students from the Universities of Babylon, Al-Qasim Al-Khadra, Hilla, Al-Mustaqbal and the colleges of Imam Al-Kadhem (peace be upon him) and of open education.
The ceremony included guidance speeches of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and speeches of the Universities of Babylon governorate, in addition to a special speech for the participating female students, poems, a screening of a documentary film entitled (abaya is chastity and jihad), and honoring female students memorizing the Holy Quran and wearing the Iraqi abaya.
The Iraqi abayas that were distributed to the students were sewn in the workshop of Lady Amenah (peace be upon her) of the Al-Afaf Women Center.
The ceremony comes within the efforts of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to promote religious and cultural values among female university students, and to emphasize the role of the Iraqi abaya as a symbol of chastity and national identity.
