The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine holds the ceremony of raising the flag of mourning for Imam al-Hasan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him)

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine held a ceremony to raise the flag of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) on the anniversary of his sad martyrdom.

The ceremony held near the gate of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) was attended by the Secretary-General of the holy shrine; Sayed Mustafa Murtada Aal Dia-Uddin, several members of its board of directors, heads of its departments and services, and a group of visitors.

It began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Haidar Geloukhani, followed by a religious mourning lecture delivered by Sheikh Abdullah Al-Dujaili, in which he discussed the oppression of Imam al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him) and the story of his tragic martyrdom, along with poetic verses presented by the poet Muhammad Al-Fatimi.

A member of the Board of Directors of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, said, "Following the example of the infallible Imams (peace be upon them) whose banners are raised high above the golden domes, this annual initiative from the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine comes to raise the banner of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), whose injustice we feel since the nation abandoned him and since the men of that nation rebelled against him. We see that raising this banner is a recognition of the necessity to revive his cause."

He added that "the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine seeks through this step and other religious and cultural activities to revive the matter of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) throughout the year, not just on the anniversary of his birth or martyrdom, but through continuous programs that focus on spreading his virtues, morals, and blessed biography."

In the same context, a member of the Board of Directors of the holy shrine, Dr. Afdhal Al-Shami, mentioned that "the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has been commemorating this painful anniversary on the night of the martyrdom of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), with the participation of all the holy shrines in Iraq and abroad."

He added, "The flag will also be raised in 11 provinces, and the purpose of this is to highlight the injustice against Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him), as the Imam's (peace be upon him) noble dome was removed from his grave in Baqi' due to the injustice he faced. However, this does not mean we should not raise a flag for him, especially here in Karbala between the graves of the Master of Martyrs and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them)."

He continued, "The event was held with the participation of a group of visitors, believers, and workers at the holy shrine. We hope it will expand in the coming years, and that we all contribute to highlighting the injustice faced by Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him)."

The holy shrine is keen on commemorating religious occasions that are related to the lives of the infallible Imams (peace be upon them), including the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hassan al-Mujtaba (peace be upon him).
