Among the ziyarat of the holy shrines of Karbala that gathers millions of visitors is the Ziyarat of the day of 'Arafah and Eid al-Adha. the crowds of visitors started arriving from inside and outside Iraq to perform the Ziyarat of Imam Al-Hussayn and his brother Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), which peak is on Tuesday afternoon.
For the Ziyarat of the day of 'Arafah and the Eid Adha in the holy city of Karbala this year, there was a turnout of hundreds of thousands from inside Iraq, from its various cities and provinces, and also from outside of Iraq, as there was delegations from Muslim countries such as Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kuwait, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Oman, Lebanon and Syria, and from non-Muslim countries such as Sweden, Germany and other European countries.
The Ziyarat is performed amid the preparations taken by the holy shrines of Imam Al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), which implemented the security and service plan to facilitate the smooth flow of the visitors' movement.
It is to note that there are many narrations from Ahl Al-Bayt (peace be upon them) about the great reward of the visitors of Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the day of 'Arafah. Such as this narration from Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him) who said: He who visits the tomb of Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) on the day of 'Arafah, he shall be granted to reward of thousand of thousand Hajj with the Qa'im -i.e Imam Al-Mahdi (peace be upon him and may allah hasten his holy reappearance)- and thousand of thousand 'Umrah with the Messenger of Allah (prayers and Allah's peace be upon him and his holy Household), freeing thousand of thousand slaves, equipping thousand of thousand of horses in the path of Allah and the Almighty God will call him: He is my servant who has testified to My Promise and is certain about it.’ The angels shall proclaim, ‘So and so is the testifying servant. Allah has purified and cleansed him over His Arsh.’ On the earth, he shall be called as Karubi."
