The night between the two holy shrines
The eve of Ashura [Tasu'a] has a painful echo in the hearts of believers..
The eve of Ashura [Tasu'a] is a sorrow in the conscience of the lovers..
In this day, the lovers of Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) recalls how the Master of martyrs spent the farewell night, walking between the tents in his camp, thinking of what will happen to him, his family and companions the next day..
And if Ashura is the greatest tragedy day, Tasu'a is its heartbreaking introduction..
True loyal believers commemorate this difficult night on the land of Karbala to feel the greatness of the tragedy, inspired by the words of Imam As-Sadeq (peace be upon him): "Tasu'a is the day in which Al-Hussayn and his companions were besieged in Karbala by the people of Syria on their horses, and Ibn Murjanah and Omar Ibn Sa'd were delighted to see the arrival of great numbers of horses [army], and assumed their victory over Al-Hussayn and his companions, and they knew that nobody will come for the support of Al-Hussayn..."
On Tasu'a, which is the ninth day of the sacred month of Muharram, 61 AH, Al-Kufa army has besieged Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his supporters, have prevented them from water and controlled all roads so that no one can join the camp on Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and the threats of the army of Omar Ibn sa'd became more serious, and they were were more ready to attack the tents.
On the afternoon of the ninth of Muharram 61 AH, Ibn Sa'd has received an order from Ibn Ziyad made him get ready to fight Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and a group of Al-Kufa army attacked the tents, while Imam were sitting next his tent, leaning on his sword, and once Zaynab (peace be upon her) heard the sounds of the attackers, she quickly went to awaken the Imam who has taken a brief nap.
Once he opened his eyes, he told her about dream that he just has on that moment, he has seen the Messenger of Allah (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household) telling him: "you are coming to us." Then, Imam Al-Hussayn sent his brother Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) with a group of supporter to explore the goal of the attackers.
When they told him that they were coming either to fight him or take from him the oath of allegiance, he asked them for to give him this night for worship and prayer, so the next day they can fight.
