The head of the holy shrine's delegation to Pakistan, Mr. Jawad Al-Hasnawi, said that the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launched the activities of the (Fatima – peace be upon her – the path to salvation) festival in Pakistan, in celebration of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her).
He added that the event began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader Haidar Gelokhan, followed by a speech from the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine delivered by the head of the Religious Affairs Department, Sheikh Salah al-Karbalaei, and a speech by Sheikh Gholam Abbas Raeesi from Pakistan, in addition to a speech by the representative of the holy shrine in the country, Sheikh Nasser Najafi.
Al-Hasnawi pointed out that the ceremony included a poetry segment and a singing performance by Mr. Shadman Rida, followed by a draw to select two attendees to visit the holy shrines in Iraq, as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening the connection to the sacred shrines and honouring the participants in this blessed occasion.
The head of the delegation explained that the festival activities included the raising of the flag of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in the presence of a number of believers and lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), emphasising that holding such activities responds to the wishes of the believers who appeal to the holy shrine to revive religious occasions in their countries.
The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine seeks, through organising the festival, to revive the memory of Lady Fatima (peace be upon her) and to instill her values and principles among various Islamic communities.
