The procession of the people of Karbala commemorates the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) at his holy shrine

The procession of the people of the holy city of Karbala commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) at his sacred shrine in the holy city of Najaf, in cooperation with the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

The procession was attended by the member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Shrine, Mr. Laith Al-Moussawi, along with several department heads and officials.

The people of the holy city of Karbala have been accustomed to descending in a unified mourning procession annually to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), at his sacred shrine in Najaf Ashraf.

The procession included a mourning march that started from Sheikh Al-Tusi Street to the purified holy shrine, with the participation of most factions of the city of Karbala and its various groups, as well as the Hussaini bodies and the local residents. It concluded with a mourning assembly held in the courtyard of the shrine of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).

The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine worked on preparing some logistical and service matters, including providing buses for transporting visitors back and forth from the city of Karbala to Najaf Ashraf, as well as coordinating the movement of the procession.
