The administration of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine congratulates Al-Ameed University for its advancement in the global ranking of the most innovative universities

The administration of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine extended congratulations to Al-Ameed University for achieving advanced ranks in the WURI 2026 ranking, which specializes in evaluating the most innovative and creative universities worldwide.

This came during the visit of the member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Shrine and the head of the Education and Higher Education Authority, Dr. Abbas Al-Dadah Al-Moussawi, to the university to extend congratulations on behalf of the Senior Official of the Holy Shrine, His Eminence Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi, who was received by the university president, Dr. Jawdat Al-Jash'ami.

Al-Moussawi said: "This congratulation is not just a social protocol, but a message of support and guidance that confirms the university's performance aligns with its vision, achieving excellence in fostering an environment of innovation and creativity, supporting scientific research, and entrepreneurship."

He added that "the congratulations aim to highlight the exceptional efforts of the university presidency, deanships, and staff, and to commend them, in addition to being a step to motivate overall performance and positive competition, and to encourage further efforts to improve the quality of their performance in developing higher education and aligning it with comprehensive quality standards."

He continued, "The talk about the University of Al-Ameed entering a new global ranking has a significant impact with many branches: it will enhance its academic reputation globally, and it is a realistic indicator that the quality of scientific research and the level of education there have become aligned with international standards. Additionally, there are future implications related to the trust institutions and employers have in the outputs of the Al-Ameed University, the accreditation of the degrees it grants, and it will increase job opportunities and attract students and professors to it. Moreover, entering the global ranking itself is a language of global recognition."

A member of the Board of Directors of the Holy Shrine indicated that "the university adopts an educational, pedagogical, and administrative policy derived from the vision, mission, and goals of the Holy Shrine, focusing on the necessity of aligning educational outcomes with the needs of society and the labor market. Its scientific endeavors emphasize creating a real impact for universities in society, industry, and innovation instead of relying solely on traditional academic indicators, which is what this global ranking has focused on and what the university has achieved in terms of certification and advancement."

The university ranked second among private Iraqi universities and fifth among both public and private Iraqi universities, marking a distinguished presence among the top 500 universities worldwide in the field of innovation and creativity. This reflects the continuous development the university is witnessing in academic, scientific, and research fields.

The WURI ranking is one of the global rankings that focuses on measuring the level of innovation and creativity in academic institutions, the extent to which educational outputs are linked to the needs of society and the labor market, as well as supporting scientific research and entrepreneurship.
