The Between the Two Holy Shrines Department provides 22,000 liters of water per hour to serve the visitors of Eid al-Adha

The Between the Two Holy Shrines Department at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine provides 22,000 liters of water per hour to serve the visitors of Eid al-Adha by operating purification, cooling, and mist systems.

The work is carried out by the Water Desalination and Cooling Unit, which is part of the General Maintenance Division in the department. This unit continues to operate its systems at high operational capacities to ensure the supply of drinking and ablution water, in addition to feeding the cooling and mist systems in the central courtyard.

The head of the department, Mr. Mohammed Jassem, said: "The department's staff worked on operating the desalination and cooling stations at full capacity, which amounts to 22,000 liters of water per hour, to meet the needs of visitors during the days of Eid al-Adha. The systems operate continuously according to periodic operation and maintenance programs."

He added that the daily production of desalinated (RO) drinking water reached about 140,000 liters, while 450,000 liters of water were prepared for ablution, in addition to 68,000 liters allocated to feed the cooling and mist systems in the central area between the two holy shrines, to help reduce temperatures.

Jassem explained that the desalination and cooling systems operate according to approved technical and health standards, under the supervision of the laboratories' staff of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, which conduct periodic tests on the produced water to ensure its compliance with specifications and its quality for human use.
