In pictures: The first silver pieces on the grid of the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him)..

The installation works of the parts of the shrine's new grid of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) continue, and today the 10th Jumada Al-Thanya 1437 AH corresponding to the 20th March 2016, the first silver piece was installed on the wooden structure of the new grid, which are the bottom bases of its knotworks with the side rose column.
These pieces were manufactured in a way similar to what was in the old grid in form and design, and different from it in terms of durability, and the metal and product qualities, as it was made using pure silver of 999 carats, mixed with gold of 24 carats in a mixing rate of 2% to give it a specific lustre and a greater resistance against blackening.
The 14 bottom bases of the grid upon which are based the partial knotworks' columns. the width of each basis is of 6 mm in the lowest point and 22 mm in the highest point, six times thicker than the bases of the old grid, which was an increase of the gold and silver ratio in accordance with specific ratios to give it longer life and greater resistance to the changes and against blackening.
The 18 rose columns are located below each side column of the holy grid, with a greater thickness than the old grid as the thickness of the new rose column is of 2,5 mm, an increase of two and a half of the thickness of the old piece.
It is to mention that we kept for the new grid the same overall structure and engravings of the current one, with few additions, upgrades and modifications, because of its uniqueness design comparing to the grids of the whole world's holy shrines. Noting that the current grid was made in 1964 with funding from the supreme religious authority - at the time - The grand Ayatollah Sayed Mohsen Al-Hakeem.
